No. 16 James Madison Defeats Drexel in Overtime, 1-0

Harrisonburg, Va. – Drexel Field Hockey lost a tough 1-0 decision to 16th-ranked James Madison in a Colonial Athletic Association game played at the James Madison University Field Hockey Complex. The loss dropped Drexel to 6-10 while the Dukes' improved to 11-6.
Neither team could score in regulation as the game headed to overtime. The last time these teams met, there was no score in the first 70 minutes as well as Drexel pulled out the victory in overtime last season, 1-0, with Cassie Prentiss (Nanticoke, Pa./Nanticoke) scoring the game-winner. This season, the Dukes found the decider in overtime as Meghan Bain scored on a breakaway with an assist from Melissa Stefaniak. Drexel had opportunities in the overtime but could not convert as the Dragons generated three penalty corners to the Dukes' one.
For the game, James Madison outshot Drexel, 20-4. Dragons' goalie Colleen McAndrew (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) made nine saves in goal while Kelsey Cutchins stopped two shots.for the Dukes.
The Dragons will return to Buckley Field to take on Delaware in another Colonial Athletic Association match-up on Friday, Oct. 27. Game time is 4:00 p.m. Drexel will be honoring the seniors on this year's team with a pre-game ceremony.
